We are very pleased to welcome Terry Robb back to del Alma on Friday, June 15th. Terry is a blues musician specializing in American Primitivism, which is a “transitional style” ranging between country blues and early 20th century string-band music. He makes his home in Portland and is regarded as one of the top acoustic blues guitarists on the west coast. He has collaborated with many legendary musicians including John Fahey, Curtis Salgado, and Steve Miller. Terry will be playing solo acoustic guitar with some vocals from 7:30-10:30pm (no cover).

The acoustic duo of Page Hundemer on acoustic bass guitar and Nick Rivard on 6 string haven’t been playing together for long, but the musical connection between them was immediate due to their shared love of jazz and improvisation. Their ten strings ring with the sonorous sounds of jazz standards and not-so-standards as well as original songs. They have also been known to sometimes spontaneously compose on the spot, creating music just right for the moment and place they’re in.

Corvallis Bassist Steve Willis will be joined by Eugene guitarist Mike Denny for an evening of straight-ahead jazz on Friday, July 27th from 7:30-10:30pm.

Steve Willis worked as a jazz bassist in Portland in the 1970s and in NYC in the 1980s. He moved to Corvallis in 1994. Over the years Mr. Willis has had the opportunity to play with many fine jazz musicians. Mike Denny is one of them.

Guitarist Mike Denny is an Origin label recording artist and has recordings under his own name as well as with Barney McClure and Jessie Marquez.  He presents a modern take on straight ahead jazz, infusing his style with blues and other world music references.
